Especially when plated in gold, it’s an excellent alternative to precious metals like gold and platinum, the prices of which have risen steadily since the 1980s and are now exponentially higher by comparison. However, sterling silver does have it drawbacks, like small sterling prongs that can be easily bent, and when used to make a delicate or thin piece of jewelry can bend easily.
