But what’s the difference between 925 sterling silver and 935 Argentium silver?\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe first thing to know is that not all 935 silver is equal, because most 935 silver is NOT genuine *Argentium* silver! Jewelry makers who think a metal is Argentium just because it contains 1% more silver than 925 sterling silver are missing 6.5% of the picture - a very critical piece of the picture called germanium! If 935 silver does not contain 6.5% germanium, it’s little different than sterling silver!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSterling silver is an alloy (a mixture of metals) made from 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper, both of which are soft, malleable metals. *Genuine* Argentium is 93.5% silver and 6.5% germanium, a hardy earth element (atomic number 32 on the Periodic Table) belonging to the carbon group. 935 silver that **does not contain 6.5% germanium** is *NOT* Argentium by default and is no more durable than sterling! The benefit of jewelry made in Argentium is that it is significantly stronger than sterling (approximately as strong as 14k gold!) and is far more resistant to scratching and tarnishing than sterling silver!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese bands are therefore *very* strong and suitable for daily wear, whether you pair them with one of my rings, wear them stacked or wear one as a standalone wedding ring!
