Chrysanthemum stone bracelet, hand knotted with 10mm beads, stainless steel and optional sterling silver rubellite tourmaline pendant!
NOTICE: These are GENUINE gemstones! In addition to using genuine gemstones, I also use durable components that will outlast every elastic bracelet on the market. Elastic bracelets will wear out quickly and break, whereas my bracelets will give you years of wear!
I offer here a beautiful rose-colored chrysanthem stone bracelet strung with a complementing double strand of mauve-colored woven silk and polyester Chinese knotting string that guarantees this bracelet’s strength and durability! Each bead measures 10mm and has snug knots meticulously hand-tied between the beads! The bracelet’s hardware is stainless steel or gold-plated stainless steel and will not tarnish or rust, which also guarantees its durability for years of wear! The OPTIONAL genuine 925 sterling silver pendant is set with authentic lab-grown rubellite tourmalines and pairs perfectly with the rose-colored fossil beads! (Choose your OPTIONAL pendant from my Sterling Silver Gemstone Pendants listings.)
You can also get this bracelet without knots. The hand-knotted version is $5 additional for the time it takes to make knots between the heads.
Also available are coordinating earrings that you can select from the items that populate when you add this bracelet to your cart. (Or you can just order the earrings!)
“If it’s not good enough for me, then it’s not good enough for my customers. If I wouldn’t wear it, it doesn’t belong in my shop.” - Heather Constable
Why I Love It: Like many children do, I collected rocks as a kid. I live in Michigan and our most abundant official state rock is called the “Petosky Stone”, which is a grayish fossil rock that is commonly found on Lake Michigan beaches around Petosky, Michigan in the upper part of the lower peninsula (Michigan is weird in that we have two separate land masses that comprise our state, called the “Upper Peninsula” and the “Lower Peninsula”, which incidentally are connected by a single, looming, loooong - and scary! - bridge). Petosky Stones are mainly limestone but contain fossils of an extinct six-sided species of coral (which makes Michigan weirder yet, because coral are saltwater animals and Michigan is known for its many freshwater lakes!). Finding Petosky Stones as a kid ignited my fascination with stones in general but in particular with stones containing fossils, so it makes sense that I find chrysanthemum stone both interesting as a fossil-containing rock and beautiful as a natural stone bead!
I only “discovered” chrysanthemum stone in the winter of 2023, but I already know it will remain among my favorite beads to design with because it reawakened the child in me who loved hunting through Michigan’s MANY rocks for not only Petosky Stones, but for perfectly-shaped stones, sparkly stones, smooth stones, heart-shaped stones and my favorites - stones that looked plain and ordinary when dry but looked like jewels when I rubbed some spit on them! Chrysanthemum stone also inspired me to hunt through the listings of bead sellers to find yet another “new” stone with which I hadn’t previously been familiar and to learn all I could about them! Most importantly is that it inspired me to create jewelry pieces using natural stone and gemstone beads so I could share them in a meaningful way with others through launching my own Etsy shop!
My hope is that you will wear your chrysanthemum stone bracelet as a reminder to reconnect with the child in YOU - that child who was curious and adventurous and who found treasures among ordinary things like pretty rocks! That child is STILL there within you! She or he may have gotten buried along the way under the profundities of “adulting”, but that child is there nonetheless! So make time to do something that once made that child squeal with joy! Go on that nature walk to rediscover the wonders around you in the forests or mountains! Catch that toad in your garden just to say hello (and then let it go when it pees on you! 😂)! Take a barefooted walk on the beach and relish the feeling of sand between your toes as you pick up and inspect interesting pebbles, seashells or pieces of driftwood! Yes, you have responsibilities and worries you didn’t have when you were a child, but the world isn’t going to end if you pause for an hour to let your inner child run free! Nor will it end if you allow him or her to run free for a full afternoon! So go do something just for the sheer joy of it! Adulting will still be there tomorrow!
