Its multiple patterns of fire make it unusual and desirable, as it displays galaxy pattern fire that streaks from deep within the stone and dapples its surface with yellow, aqua and lime green, chaff pattern fire that creates a background tableau of shifting pinkish orange deep within the stone and then “Welo fire opal” swaths of all these colors mid-level with added licks of magenta and burnished orange! The multi-fire patterns lend this beautiful opal a sense of depth and create a symphony of colors that literally makes you *feel* this stone’s beauty in your soul!

This opal’s remarkable “multifire” characteristics are due to hydrogenated silica molecules that arranged in clusters as it formed - tightly “stacked” silica molecules that gave it its galaxy pattern fire, flattened but looser silica molecules that gave it its chaff pattern fire and loosely arranged silica molecules with tiny air bubbles separating them that gave it “Welo fire opal” pattern fire!
